CABES Capacity Development Program (CCDP) 1st face-to-face training on “Utilization of IPBES assessment outcomes in national policy-making”

CABES is a capacity development initiative for biodiversity and ecosystem services experts aimed at developing and strengthening the capacity of professionals in biodiversity and related fields in West, East and Central Africa sub-regions to effectively engage in the IPBES processes (www.ipbes.net). CABES (www.cabes.online) aims to promote knowledge exchanges and foster cross-border collaboration amongst multi-stakeholder groups including researchers, practitioners from the public and private sectors, as well as CSOs and ILK holders. CABES is supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV). The 1^st face-to-face capacity building training is organized on the “Utilization of IPBES assessment outcomes in national policy making”, with a particular focus on the IPBES Assessment Report on Invasive Alien Species, as a driver of global biodiversity loss and multiple options on how to utilize the contents of the assessment in national and subnational policy making. The participants of the training are the National Focal Points (BES experts) drawn from over 30 countries from East, West and Central Africa sub-regions. The two days training will offered by international experts from CoKnow-Consulting in Germany, which is one of the implementing partners of the CABES project.
