Ethiopian National Biodiversity Platform (ENBP) Executive Committee (EC) meeting
The ENBP Executive Committee of the platform met on December 30, 2023, at Bishoftu town. The ENBP-EC is composed of the Ethiopian Biodiversity Institute, Parliamentary Standing Committee on Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture (Environmental Resource Development Sector), Ethiopian Environment Protection Authority, Addis Ababa University, Oromia Region Environment Protection Authority, Ethiopia News Agency, MELCA Ethiopia and Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) National Focal Point. The meeting was organized by the HoAREC&N-CABES project. During the meeting, the executive committee discussed achievements and drawbacks in accomplishing the 2023 plans and developed a plan for the 2024 fiscal year.
Furthermore, the EC has endorsed members of the sub-committees for a multidisciplinary team composed of experts from the fields of policy and legal experts, natural and social science, as well as communication. A capacity-building and resource mobilization sub-committee and local knowledge promotion and integration sub-committee members from relevant fields have also been nominated by the Executive Committee of the Platform.
