HoA-CCP Harvest Workshop underway at HoA-REC&N-AAU Headquarters

Horn of Africa Regional Environment Centre & Network, Addis Ababa University, (HoA-REC&N-AAU) is an organisation that focuses on promoting inclusive environmental governance and catalysing sustainable development interventions within the Horn of Africa region. HoA-REC&N promotes, strengthens and advocates for strategic regional initiatives related to environmental conservation and natural resources management.

Under the banner of its Horn of Africa Climate Change Programme, HoA-REC&N is organizing the “HoA-CCP Harvest Workshop” as part of the initiative to showcase the various efforts made during the last four years of the HoA-CCP in the intervention landscapes towards promoting sustainable landscapes management approaches. The intervention is a route to building community resilience and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs) through effective community engagement and creating broad-based landscape engagement platforms.

Accordingly, a two-day workshop under the theme Horn of Africa Landscape Dialogue: Envisioning the Horn in the Era of Climate Change is underway at the HoA-REC&N Headquarters.

The objectives of the ‘Harvest workshop” are to:

1.Showcase the achievements, success stories of the programme and share lessons learnt
2.Review framework proposal for intervention in the second phase

Among the speakers during the HoA-CCP Harvest Workshop are Prof. Tassew Woldehanna, President of Addis Ababa University (AAU), Prof. H.I Muawia Shaddad President of the Horn of Africa Regional Environment Centre-AAU, Dr. Mekuria Argaw, Executive Director of HoA-RC&N-AAU and Mrs. Njeri Kabeberi, Executive Director of Green Peace Africa.

During the two days deliberation achievements and lessons learned from the HoA-CCP intervention landscapes of Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia/Somaliland, South Sudan and Sudan will be featured.
